Event Details

Nathan Sawaya has created a truly stunning art exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery in East London using over a million LEGO building blocks. The exhibition features large scale sculptures, conceptual pieces as well as replicas of iconic classical works of art, all of which are constructed from LEGO.

The exhibition is one of the most extraordinary and innovative displays in recent memory and it can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Seeing this exhibition will change the way you look at LEGO forever and many of the pieces say a lot about the world today and how art relates to that world.

Nathan Sawaya is a New York based artist who has created many incredible works of art out of some of the most unlikely things. His work is often obsessively and painstakingly constructed and is both aesthetically pleasing and playful. Sawaya was the first artist to take LEGO into the art world, and THE ART OF THE BRICK is the first exhibition to completely focus on the use of LEGO as a medium.

The creations have been constructed using countless individual LEGO pieces and every piece used is a standard piece.
