Music in Monkstown is a brand new festival of classical music that will take place in the village of Monkstown, Co. Dublin from September 12th to 14th and will feature four concerts over the three days. The programmes of the four concerts range from solo piano to string quartets, a selection of operatic arias and chamber music by composers such as Chopin, Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Rossini, Verdi, Debussy and more.
The line-up for MIM includes some fantastic Irish performers as well as musicians from all over the world including Finghin Collins, Claudia Boyle, the RIAM Chamber Ensemble and the London based Navarra String Quartet.
The four concerts will be performed in Monkstown Parish Church which was designed by the celebrated 19th century church architect John Semple, who famously also designed Mansion House’s Round Room. Monkstown Church was a particular favourite of Sir John Betjeman, the British Poet Laureate and a noted authority on church architecture.
