With the legendary Bard coming up for his 450th birthday, Dublin Castle is set to pay tribute to the life and works of William Shakespeare with a glam-rock retelling of one of his best-loved plays. This outdoor adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream casts the four young Athenian lovers in the glittering garb of the early 1970s pop scene, with a soundtrack that’s guaranteed to have you clapping your hands and stomping your ‘tiger feet’!
The production will run every evening between July 23rd and August 3rd at 7.30pm, with the exception of Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th July. The producers are intent on staging it outside, even if there is a spot of light rainfall, and guarantee that there will be no performances cancelled as a result of inclement weather. However, if there is particularly heavy wind and rain, then they have the option of moving the production to the indoor venue at the Castle.
