Dublin’s rich literary history makes it the perfect city to host Ireland’s most prestigious literature festival. Formerly known as the Dublin Writer’s Festival, this year’s event debuts a new name but continues to champion exciting literary developments with a fascinating program that provides a platform for both local emerging talent and esteemed global literary figures.

This year the festival presents an especially rich and diverse array of readings, discussions, debates, screenings, workshops and performances courtesy of an exciting cast of poets, writers of fiction and non-fiction, lyricists, playwrights and screenwriters.

Among this year’s highlights are a talk by the investigative journalist and author of The Men Who Stare At Goats, Jon Ronson, Irvine Welsh discussing the return of one of his most popular characters: ‘Juice’ Terry Lawson and Alas Awake, an ambitious homage to James Joyce’s abstracts masterpiece Finnegans Wake that utilised choral work, collage, improvisation, live electronics and installation to conjure Joyce’s world.
