Launched in 2012, the Fingal Film Festival has quickly established itself as one Ireland’s key cinematic events and returns to the Pavilions Centre in Swords this September with a strong programme that will surely enhance its burgeoning reputation.
The festival complements an extensive 60-film programme with an exciting schedule of innovative workshops, covering specialisms like animation and sound design and culminating with an exciting awards ceremony at on the 28th September at Dublin Airport’s Radisson Blu Hotel. With eight prestigious awards to be presented to talented up-and-coming filmmakers and live music it promises to be a fun finale and a great testament to the festival’s standing as an important showcase for new cinema in Ireland.
This year’s hot ticket looks set to be the opening night premiere of Palo Alto, the highly anticipated adaptation of James Franco’s book of the same name. Franco himself stars in this poignant coming of age drama that announces the arrival of Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, as an exciting young directing talent.
