Ireland’s premier music and arts festival Electric Picnic is coming back to Stradbally Estate with what promises to be the strongest line-up to date. Highlights on the main stage include trip-hop pioneers Portishead, hip-hop funsters Outkast, disco legends Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, indie rockers foals and the always eclectic Beck. The festival aims to cover a wide variety of music tastes, with classic rock and pop from the likes of Blondie, Simple Minds, and the Pet Shop Boys to cutting edge indie artists such as White Denim, Wild Beasts, and Scottish post-rockers Mogwai.
It’s not just about the music, though, and there are stages covering a wide variety of other art forms including the Mindfield spoken word arena, the Comedy tent, and a chilled-out multi-arts space curated by the Body & Soul collective, featuring the group’s trademark atmospheric engineering and a collaboration of artists, musicians, poets, and performers.
